VOLANTE

Volante is a David Thomas designed fractional rig sloop built by Hunter Boats in 1979.

Rigged for inshore racing and cruising and lying at Ramsgate Harbour in East Kent, Volante can be viewed by appointment.

Racing Sails: Kevlar Main, Kevlar No1, Mylar No2, Mylar No3, light weight and heavy weight spinnakers

Cruising Sales: Dacron main, No3 and storm jib

Engine: Yanmar 1GM10 single cylinder diesel new in 1999. Twin, heavy duty, batteries and three way isolating switch. 14” two bladed, folding propeller.

Rudder: Milanes MK2 Impala rudder.

Rigging: All wire rigging replaced in 1999, new twin stuff luff in 2009.

Instruments: Autohelm depth, speed, compass and wind displays. VHF Radio.

Deck Fittings: Harken Traveller, Lewmar winches, Stainless Stanchions and guard rails.

Hull: Standard Impala with a fresh coat of International Racing Hard Antifoul. Volante was weighed in 2008 and showed no increase on the original measurement weight.

Interior: Standard Hunter Implala 28 layout, two saloon berths, two pilot berths, and a twin “V” berth in forepeak, gas cooker, stainless sink, cool box and kitchen storage. Lavac sea toilet in the separate heads compartment. Fold away chart table with storage.

Cradle: Volante has a custom float on/off cradle.
