With Polly’s owners on duty elsewhere it was left Imptish, Trudi and Magic to defend the classes honour on the third day of the Garmin Hamble Winter Series. A fluctuating north easterly breeze of between 12 and 18 kn led to some tight racing within the seven strong iRC4 class. Trudi was the leading Impala in both places and starred in the second race coming out on top overall, The third win for an impala out of four races completed so far. Imptish and Magic battled hard but somehow managed to find themselves near the back of the fleet at the end of both races. The crews were happy to return to the packed Hamble river sailing club clubhouse at the end of the day particularly as the forecast rain set in just as we started packing the boats away. Next weekend Hamble has offered to run racing on both days so if any other impalas want to join us we will hopefully see you on the start line on Saturday!
